Directions to the Sugar House: This is an early morning shot, so after you get through shooting at Jenne Farm in the early morning, go back down the road to Route 106. Turn right and go down the road for a half a mile and you will see a small country road leading up a hill on the left. Drive up this road for 3/10th of a mile and you will see the red Sugar House on the left side of the road. Drive past the Sugar House and up the hill for 2/10th of a mile and stop. When you look back down the hill you will see the curved road leading to the Sugar House. This is your shot. Be sure to take in the birch trees on the right hand side of the road.
8.6 Back to Rte 106. Turn right on Route 6. Take first road on LEFT to the SUGAR HOUSE

The Jenne Farm is in central Vermont, about a 15 minutes drive south of Woodstock on Route 106. If you are driving south on 106, go through South Woodstock, then follow the road up Reading Hill. After it crests and you start to go down, slow down and look for a small sign on the right hand side. (There will also be a sign for the Jenne Farm Road) See our road map of the area

From Lake Placid, go east on Rt. 73 to Adirondack Loj Rd., which is the first right after the ski jumps. The parking lots are 5 miles from Rt. 73. There is a $10/day parking fee. From the parking lot at the High Peaks Information Center at the end of Adirondak Loj Rd. return to the entrance station and find the trail at the far corner of the snowplow turnaround. Description: The trail descends gently 300 yds. to a road next to Heart Lake. Turn right for 60 yds. and the true start of the trail to Mt. Jo. After 1/4 mile of climb, there is a junction. The Short Trail goes right while the Long trail goes straight. The Short Trail is only 0.2 mi. shorter, but is considerably steeper and rougher, so the Long Trail is better for most family groups. The two trails rejoin just before the summit. Total distance 1.1 mi.
