2018 was a great year for travel

38 states plus Washington DC twice and 7 Canadian provinces in one year is a rather good year.

I would assume that is more than some people see in a lifetime.

No new states this or last year though. Hawaii is still my last state to visit.

In April I got the idea to try to visit as many President grave sites as possible then it turned into any famous grave sites. Then I wanted to visit triple points where three states come together. I had many state welcome signs but many were blurry or out of date so this year I focused hard on getting new and better quality state road signs as well as capital buildings.

Alberta was a new Canadian province for me in 2018. My favorite trip this year was a trip to the Palouse region of Washington and Banff / Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada.

Banff / Jasper is a Mecca for those who enjoy nature and mountains. Snow peaked mountains everywhere you look. Wildlife is plentiful, I saw 5 bears in just one day.

I made my 5th and probably last visit to New England for awhile this fall. Wanting to visit other places like Minnesota/ Upper peninsula of Michigan and Rocky Mountains for fall photos in the future.

Looking forward to 2019, I would like to get more capital buildings, get the president grave sites of Hoover, Lincoln, Bush and Johnson and spend a week storm chasing in May. Most likely I’ll spend 2019 fall in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.

At some point I would like to get Hawaii the 50th state for me finished. In the process maybe spend a few days in Los Angeles and get famous graves sites as well as President Reagan and Nixon.
